BANG 2D work
2D Artwork Specs
Artwork should be original and created by the artist. The exhibition committee reserves the right to refuse work that is not appropriate for this exhibition. Work hung in prior BANG shows will not be placed on gallery walls during this show (print bins are available for older work).
There will be a few booth spaces available for artists with a significant amount of work; however these will only be available to artists who will be present in the gallery during the exhibition.
The number of accepted artworks per artist is dependent upon number of entries: typically no less than 5 wall pieces. There is room for more if the pieces are significantly smaller than the maximum size of 12 x 16 inches.
Print bins will be available for artists to display more photographs, prints, note cards, and giclées. (3D work and jewelry is usually excluded from this maximum – you will be contacted to discuss your display space as needed).
Please be sure that all work is ready to hang. Due to the number of participating artists, we cannot prepare work for hanging. Exceptions would be unframed, matted work (under acetate) that can be supported by several pushpins. Here are examples of acceptable wiring and presentation
Works on paper such as drawings, watercolors, prints, and photography should be under glass, plexiglas, or matted with an acetate or shrink-wrap cover. If you are matting works, we request that you use appropriate gallery mats (white, black or gray).
Paintings on canvas or masonite do not have to be stripped or framed, but do need to be equipped with wire for hanging. We will not prepare work for hanging.
The artwork is hung salon-style with as many works per wall as space permits. If you have reasonable specific needs for installation please call or email before the drop-off dates, so arrangements can be made for the display of your work (for example: if several pieces need to be hung together as in a triptych).
